Landscape Design in Orange County, California.

Custom landscape design, 3D landscape rendering, outdoor living, and water-wise landscaping for Orange County homeowners and contractors — from Irvine and Newport Beach to Orange, Anaheim Hills, Yorba Linda, and the rest of OC.

A landscape designer for Orange County

Designed for OC homes. Drawn for OC contractors. Built to last in OC climate.

Regenerated Landscapes is a landscape design studio based in Orange County, California. We work with homeowners who want their outdoor space to actually match the home it surrounds, and with landscape contractors, pool builders, and custom home builders who need professional design, 3D renderings, and construction-focused plans to present projects clearly and build them cleanly.

Every project is designed around Orange County's reality — long dry summers, marine-influenced coast, hotter inland canyons, water-efficiency expectations, HOA architectural committees in Irvine and Yorba Linda, fuel-modification zones in south-county hill communities, and coastal review in Newport Beach and Huntington Beach. The design comes first; the local fluency is what makes it buildable.

Why Regenerated Landscapes

A landscape designer with a foot in both worlds.

Local to Orange County

We design across Irvine, Newport Beach, Orange, Yorba Linda, Anaheim Hills, Mission Viejo, and the rest of OC. Plant palettes, soil, exposure, and HOA design expectations are all part of how we approach a property here.

Visualization built in

3D landscape design isn't an upsell. Renderings are part of how we work, because that's how homeowners understand a proposal and how contractors communicate scope.

Coordinated documentation

Our construction-focused landscape plans are drawn for the contractors who actually install them — dimensioned, specified, and organized so they can support contractor coordination and, where appropriate, be packaged for HOA or agency review handled by the applicant.

Designed for both audiences

Half of our work is direct-to-homeowner. The other half is white-label design support for landscape contractors, pool builders, and custom home builders.

What an Orange County landscape designer actually solves.

Orange County properties share a recognizable set of design problems. Sloped lots in Anaheim Hills and Trabuco Canyon. Compact yards in Irvine and Costa Mesa where privacy, shade, and outdoor gathering compete for the same footprint. Coastal homes in Newport Beach and Huntington Beach where salt air dictates material choices. Inland properties in Yorba Linda and Orange where afternoon heat decides where a shade structure or fire feature belongs. A local designer resolves these conditions in the plan — before a contractor prices them — so the project is shaped around the site instead of discovered during installation.

See it in 3D before anyone breaks ground.

Photorealistic 3D landscape visualization is built into how we work, because site plans are a professional language most homeowners can't read. A rendering puts proportions, materials, and evening light into a single image — so homeowners decide with confidence and contractors present scope with far less ambiguity.

Outdoor living, designed for the OC climate.

In Orange County the backyard is part of the house. Our outdoor living design work — kitchens, fireplaces, pergolas, pool patios — is specified to the microclimate: salt-air-rated finishes on the coast, shade and fire features sized for inland heat.

Water-wise design for Orange County conditions.

Water-wise landscaping is standard practice here, not a specialty. We design California-friendly gardens — climate-appropriate planting, hydrozoned drip irrigation, weather-based controllers — with water-efficiency requirements in mind. Which rules apply to a given project is determined by the local jurisdiction and water provider, and any rebate eligibility is determined by the applicable agency.

Front yards and backyards, designed as one project.

A front yard renovation is often the highest-leverage exterior project an OC homeowner can make — and in HOA communities we can format the design information a submittal typically calls for, with the submittal and decision resting with the homeowner and the association. A full backyard renovation touches more disciplines than any other residential project, so we resolve the whole yard at the master-plan level first and phase construction around the budget.

Design support Orange County contractors use.

Roughly half of our work is white-label design support for landscape contractors, pool builders, general contractors, and custom home builders across Orange County — renderings that make a design easy to present, and construction plans that support accurate pricing. See the Contractors page for how the partnership works.

Our landscape design process.

Every project moves through the same phases — discovery, site analysis, concept design, 3D visualization, revisions, and construction-focused documentation — with the timeline confirmed in your written proposal. See the Process page for a phase-by-phase breakdown.

Why work with a local Orange County landscape designer.

National online design services have their place, but they don't visit your site, they don't walk the neighborhood, and they don't know the difference between how a plant performs in coastal Newport Beach versus inland Yorba Linda or canyon-influenced Trabuco Canyon. A local landscape designer makes a design that's specific to your block — the wind off the coast, the heat off the inland canyons, the soil under your lot, the architectural pattern of your street — and stays accessible while it's being built. That's the difference between a design that photographs well and a landscape that actually performs ten years in.

FAQ

Landscape design in Orange County — answered.

How much does landscape design cost in Orange County?+

Design fees scale with the size and scope of the property. A focused front-yard design is a smaller engagement than a whole-property design with 3D visualization and construction-focused documentation for an Orange or Newport Beach estate. We quote a fixed design fee in a written proposal after the consultation, so the number is confirmed before work begins.

What does a landscape designer in Orange County actually do?+

A landscape designer is responsible for the design and documentation of your outdoor space — site planning, planting, hardscape, lighting, irrigation, outdoor living, and the landscape design plans a contractor coordinates from. We don't install. That separation keeps our recommendations objective and lets us work with the best builder for your project.

Do you offer 3D landscape design in Orange County?+

Yes — photorealistic 3D renderings are part of most of our projects. They're how homeowners decide what to build and how contractors explain scope to their clients. We model the design with real material textures and plants at realistic sizes, then render daylight and dusk views of key vantage points.

What is water-wise landscaping and is it required in Orange County?+

Water-wise landscaping is drought-tolerant, California-friendly design — climate-appropriate planting, hydrozoned drip irrigation, and weather-based controllers. California water-efficiency rules can apply to new and renovated landscapes above a certain size, and those requirements are determined by your local water district. We design with water efficiency in mind from the first sketch, but we do not prepare compliance documentation.

Do you work with HOAs in Irvine, Yorba Linda, and Newport Beach?+

Yes, in the sense that we can prepare design information — plant lists, material boards, and renderings — that supports an HOA submittal. The submittal itself is made by the homeowner or contractor, and approval decisions rest entirely with the association.

Which Orange County cities do you serve?+

We design across all of Orange County, with most of our work in Irvine, Newport Beach, Orange, Anaheim Hills, Yorba Linda, Tustin, Mission Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa, Fullerton, Lake Forest, Rancho Santa Margarita, and Trabuco Canyon. Each city has its own service-area page with local design notes.

How long does the landscape design process take?+

A typical residential design moves through Discovery, Site Analysis, Concept, 3D Visualization, Revisions, and construction-focused plans. Schedules vary with scope and current workload, and the project-specific timeline is confirmed in your written proposal. See our Process page for a phase-by-phase breakdown.

Do you design pools as part of a backyard renovation?+

We design the pool's shape, location, decking, coping, and surround as part of the master plan, and we coordinate with a licensed pool builder on the structural and equipment design. That keeps the pool integrated with the rest of the backyard — patios, planting, lighting, shade — instead of dropped in as a stand-alone element.

Can you help us get a turf-replacement rebate?+

Turf-replacement rebate programs are periodically offered by agencies such as SoCal Water$mart, Metropolitan Water District, and local water providers. We can design with water efficiency in mind and point you to the program worth checking, but we do not manage rebate applications and eligibility is determined by the agency, not by our studio.
